Land and Planning Technician





About the role

We are looking for a self-motivated, detail-orientated person to join our Chelmsford Land team. The applicate will provide the Land and Planning Department with Technical and secretarial support and will work as an integral part of the team and to ensure the smooth running of the Department.

Skills & Experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with land and planning application searches.
  • Assisting with land bids;
  • Preparing and submitting minor planning applications. Including responding to queries during the planning application process;
  • To provide technical assistance and information to staff, with tasks including the
  • discharge and variation of planning conditions;
  • Prepare maps, site location plans for the team when required
  • Preparing, coordinating and attending public engagement events;
  • Assisting with and managing the Overhead System, delivering invoices, creating purchase orders and manual payments;
  • Assisting with managing the all-department information and local authority trackers;
  • Requesting and managing consultant framework agreements, long forms and short forms;
  • General secretarial duties for the department and support for other departments as required, including arranging meetings and CPD seminars;
  • Attend relevant CPD events and Housebuilder events and meetings and keep abreast of all changes and checking legislation and law relevant to planning;
  • Meeting and liaising with Landowners, Consultant and Local Authorities when required;
  • Maintaining and arranging and booking relevant training;
  • Manage and maintain an effective online filing system;
  • Issue Technical Departmental information as required to the rest of the Group;
  • Ensure familiarity with Stonebonds Group’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies and comply with employee responsibilities;
  • At all times comply with company policies, procedures, and instructions;
  • Implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving contribution to the organisation’s goals and enhancing the reputation of the company.
