Energy saving homes by Stonebond

Energy saving homes by Stonebond

With energy bills continuing to rise, 79% of homeowners are increasingly thinking about the importance of energy efficiency and many are searching for homes with an EPC rating of above C.[1] Housebuilder, Stonebond, places sustainability as a key priority within its business ethos and has recently carried out research to prove their B-rated homes exceed the national averages for new build properties across a number of efficiency criteria.

In line with its commitment to improving sustainability across the business, Stonebond’s St Albans development, Radio Place, demonstrates the substantial advantages of homes with advanced eco-features. The data collected has concluded the homes have a low permeability rating, meaning a reduction in heat loss and energy bills, whilst the predicated EPC ratings are classed as ‘good’ or ‘very good’. Plot 16, a four-bedroom home at Radio Place, produces just a third of the amount of CO2 produced by the average household. These impressive findings are the result of carefully considered, eco-conscious features such as double glazing, underfloor heating to the ground floor and low-energy downlights.

Stonebond’s commitment to sustainability is business-wide, demonstrated through the company’s upcoming schemes and partner ventures, as well as its current developments, Stableford Green and The Crescent. The former, located in Bishops Stortford, features a collection of bungalows and houses all of which include low energy downlights throughout, underfloor heating to the ground floor, full cavity wall insulation, smart meters and a highly efficient boiler. Similarly, The Crescent in Goffs Oak features underfloor heating, low-energy lighting, A-rated appliances where possible, eco-sanitaryware and some homes have solar panels and smart-meters.

Annette Cole, Sales and Marketing Director at Stonebond comments: “Energy-efficiency has long been a priority for our business both internally and reflected in the properties we build. We work tirelessly to implement sustainability into our developments from start to finish, from our initial building plans to our post-completion digital leaflet on how our residents can lead greener lives. It has been inspiring to see that this dedication to energy efficiency is working as shown by the incredible results from our research. Radio Place is just the start of our journey to providing excellent homes which are eco-conscious without any compromise on budget, quality or style.”
